Funding Opportunities

Alert Services

Alert Services allow you to register your research insterests on-line and then, when grant opportunities in your area of interest become available, you will receive email notification.

SMARTS is the most comprehensive service available to faculty and staff at EOHSI is the SMARTS system from InfoEd International. The investigator completes a profile of his or her research interests on the Web. The investigator profile information is matched against the SPIN database, a comprehensive database of over 10,000 funding opportunities issued by the federal government, corporate and other private sources, and international sponsors. Every day, matched programs are emailed automatically to the individual investigator with full details of the opportunity. To register for this service, go to: http://grants.umdnj.edu/spin_start.html and select the icon for SMARTS/GENIUS. Detailed instructions are available on the website.

EPA-NCERQA Environmental Protection Agency's National Center for Environmental Research and Quality Assurance sends email notification when programs are announced in selected research areas including: quality assurance, air quality, water, ecology, health, social and economic sciencs and exploratory research.

The National Science Foundation has set up a Custom News Service that allows an individual to select precisely the kind of announcements he or she is interested in receiving and, when those announcements are released, the individual will receive an email notification which contains the Web address of the full announcement. The full text of selected documents can be accessed on your own personal homepage, created for you by NSF, and resident on the NSF's server. The NSF funds research in a wide range of non-medical science, including social science. To set up your profile, go to www.nsf.gov/home/cns/start.htm.

NIH Guide for Grants and Contacts Table of Contents.
Though not technically an alert service, the Table of Contents is a weekly email listing current program and policy announcements from the National Institutes of Health. If you see a grant program of interest to you, simply visit the web site listed with each announcement. To subscribe to this service, send email to NIHTOC-L@LIST.NIH.GOV and in the body of the message type SUBSCRIBE NIHTOC-L First-name Last-name. Be sure to turn off your signature file when registering.
